Thought Leadership Platform Building

I help subject matter experts who want to be professional thought leaders build visibility platforms and become leaders in the public dialogue around their industry and their area of expertise.

I help my clients develop a laser-specific point of view that differentiates them from other public thinkers in their space. I broker visibility opportunities like media interviews, published articles, speaking opportunities, online events and webinars, and more.

An example of the secret sauce: there are hundreds of people who want to influence the conversation around “women’s leadership,” but developing a more defined point of view (“I speak about the double standards and sexism experienced by women founders and CEOs raising venture capital”) makes it much easier to stand out, capture the attention of reporters and media creators who cover the beat, and eventually branch out to commenting on a broader range of women’s leadership topics.

Services:

  • Creation of thought leadership gameplan with clearly defined areas of expertise and talking points

  • Website copy and build-out

  • Pursuit and brokering of visibility opportunities.

Service Provider Marketing

I help service providers create messaging that communicates the unique benefits and value of their offerings and differentiates them from competitors.

I help service providers reach the clients and customers who want what they’ve got. I write web-site copy that generates leads, language for interacting with prospects that secures meetings, and scripts and structures for sales conversations that closes new business quickly.

An example of the secret sauce: there are thousands of therapists who can provide eating disorder treatment, but being “an eating disorder therapist who prioritizes patient agency, opposes involuntary treatment, and helps patients identify misogyny and systemic oppression as a primary cause of eating disorders” sets a private-pay provider apart in a competitive marketplace.

Services:

  • Creation of core marketing language

  • Website copy

  • Email language for interacting with prospects

  • Creation of a structured sales script for cultivating interest and closing business without pressure.

Audience Growth and Community Building

You can’t buy word-of-mouth marketing, but you can be extremely tactical about cultivating it.

I help brands and organizations that want to build a movement around their work cultivate engaged and passionate audiences.  I create strategies to nurture early adopters, power users and evangelists who serve as a self-propelling growth engine. I create newsletter campaigns that help people feel like they belong to something big and exciting, newsletters that readers are eager to forward around; and I orchestrate IRL events with sky-high turnouts.

An example of the secret sauce: most brands and organizations know they have a cluster of dedicated supporters or customers who support and talk up their work. Creating a strategy to identify, engage, train, and reward “power users” or evangelists has the effect of creating an on-the-ground extension of your marketing team. Word of mouth marketing, the most powerful form of marketing that otherwise can’t be bought, can be cultivated, achieved, and measured.

Services:

  • Creation of audience growth strategy

  • Creation of a custom, engaging newsletter editorial format

  • Creation of newsletter editions using your custom format

  • Strategy to cultivate power users and evangelists

  • Coordination and marketing of digital and IRL events
